The kids loved drawing Kawaii cupcakes (cute cupcakes).
This summer I participated in a Kawaii cupcake swap on swapbot. I never heard of Kawaii before, so I looked it up as a part of the Japanese manga drawing.
They use cute eyes to make animals, objects, food sweet, cute or in other words: KAWAII!
My 7th graders with learning difficulties did a great job.
I am thinking about making the background a bit more colorful with maker dots though! Think the white is just a bit too white for a happy, cute kawaii drawing ....
I started with talking about cupcakes. It's really fun and most of the kids have made them. These days they come in all kinds of colors and flavours. I let them think about original ways to decorate their cakes!
I drew the shape of the cake on the board and showed them how to draw those cute kawaii eyes.
Soon they were well on their way with creating lovely kawaii cupcake drawings!
