Every year we get a number of contests sent to the school. Every year I try to pick one or two to try.
We have won some fun stuff, but you just can't do all the contests, you just won't get anything done you really planned!
Every year my class gets free exhibitons space at the public library. They are very helpful over there.
The man of the library asked us to participate in the contest 'the cover lover' they organized.
I just couldn't say no.
The kids had to pick a DVD, CD or book and come up with a totally new cover for it.
My colleague and me let them go free. They could use any material they wanted to use.
Some were very careful and just used colored pencils, others went wild with mixed media.
I was surprised with the choices they made. One kid of the 7 grade came in with a CD of 'The Eagles' while others of the 8 grade came in with DVD's like 'UP'.
I think this was a thankful project and the kids had fun. The latter is still the main objective in my class, so I'm glad we decided to join in!
