Hello,
I'm Ilse.
I'm an art teacher in the north of Belgium.
I've been teaching art since 2003 now in a middle school. I'll probably stay there until it's my time to retire.
Art has been a big part of my life.
From 1st to 12th grade I took art-classes after school and at the weekend, just because I loved it so much.
Not that I was such a big talent, you know, someone who can draw without even taken one class.
I'm the living proof that drawing and painting is something you can learn (up to a certain level off course).
My last 2 years of high-school I studied art. It was quite hard, because many of my class-mates had been in art-school for over 4 years. I had to try and catch up.
When I graduated I really wanted to do something with my talent, so I went to get a teaching degree.
When I got in touch with the wide blogging community of art-teachers I felt the need to share what I have been doing with my students of the 7th and 8th grade.
I really hope this blog can inspire some teachers and children who love to draw.
